Strawberry and Serrano Pepper Chutney

Strawberry and Serrano Pepper Chutney

Spice up your next meal with this combination of sweet strawberries and hot peppers! Great as a dip or over your favorite grilled meats!

Heat it up! The intention here was to create a nice balance of sweet and spicy, and that balance is directly dependent on the quantities you use of strawberries and peppers. The recipe I have below gives a pretty good kick, so if you are timid, maybe start with half of the pepper and build up. I find this works well made the day before, giving the strawberries some time to soften and create a little more liquid, and the flavors time to blend together, which also brings out the heat throughout. To help tame this, depending on your uses, try throwing in a little goat cheese or feta to help that bite!

The perfect condiment. I love when I create something that can be used in very different ways! The plan here was to top a piece of fish or chicken with this chutney. But as I ate through the leftovers, I found myself trying this on a salad with some feta cheese, and again with shrimp and avocado, like a ceviche. It would be fun to mix up with basil or even cilantro! Delicious every way!
